What is it that moves me?
That brings a smile or a tear
Rather it be something monumental
Or something that’s both precious and dear
It could be fields of golden yellow sunflowers
Reminding me to be grateful for this land
To give thanks and eternal gratitude
That I am a free and happy man
Perhaps a panorama of pale pink clouds
That are suddenly shaped like a band of angels in the air
That make me feel with every fiber of my being
That God and Spirt put them right there
Just the sight of innocent children
Seeing things that only they can see
Doing so with gay abandonment
And most assuredly because they believe
It may be her shallow breathing
As my sweet puppy naps across my lap
As the sun streaks across her amazing fur
Creating a black and caramel map
Thousands are the inspirations
That are mine to realize their appeal
And it truly matters very little
Rather they are a fantasy or if their real
Maybe it was the way you touched me
Or perhaps it was your delicious smile
However what truly moved me ultimately
Is that you went that extra mile
What is it that moves me?
What brings a special light to my day?
No matter what ever that road may be
I shall always search for that way
