Ancient Wisdom

Ancient Wisdom is an advanced class which explores different topics within the category of Spiritual Wisdom, also known as Esoteric Christianity.

Information will be presented and discussed from sources such as Eric Butterworth, Alice Bailey, Charles Leadbeater, Annie Besant, and Vera Stanley Alder, to name a few.

The class meets the first Sunday of each month after the Sunday Service from 12:45-3:00 pm. 

The class will be reading and discussing A Textbook of Theosophy by Charles Leadbeater.  (The book is available on Amazon.)

Dec. 1             

Chapters 1-2 of the book A Textbook of Theosophy by Charles Leadbeater.  Topics include “What Theosophy Is”, “From the Absolute to Man”, and  the Planes. (The book is available on Amazon.) 

Jan. 5              

Chapter 3 of the book A Textbook of Theosophy  by Charles Leadbeater.  Topic is “The Formation of the Solar System”.

Feb. 2             

Chapter 4 of the book A Textbook of Theosophy  by Charles Leadbeater.  The topic is “The Evolution of Life”.

Mar. 2             

Chapter 5 of the book A Textbook of Theosophy  by Charles Leadbeater.  The topic is “The Constitution of Man”.

Apr. 6              

Chapter 6 of the book A Textbook of Theosophy  by Charles Leadbeater.  The topic is  “After Death” and exploration of the astral plane.

May 4             

Chapter 7 of the book A Textbook of Theosophy by Charles Leadbeater.  The topic is “Reincarnation” and the continued examination of the Law of Karma.

                         Class members will decide on books and dates for future classes.

Presenter:  Dr. Connors is an attorney and teacher with 40 years of classroom experience. She has been a member of UOD since 1967. She lived in a New Age community in Tahlequah, OK from 1984-86 where she had the privilege of studying with internationally known lecturer and teacher Rev. Carol Parish-Harra. Nancy completed those studies as a certified practitioner and started her own chartered study group that met in her home from 1986-1992. She then completed a two-year series of weekly classes with former Unity minister, David McClure from 1997-1999.  Dr. Connors identifies her mission as a teacher charged with passing on the Teachings to other awakened ones and lightworkers. She states that the Ancient Wisdom correlates well with the Unity teachings of Practical Christianity and concepts shared by Charles Fillmore and Eric Butterworth.
