A day filled with adventures
As varied as the fish in the sea
Some of them quite ordinary
While others were impossible to believe
One of our amazingly wise church buddies
Set the mood as he shared his beliefs
Author of a brand-new and exciting book
About the journey that many of us seek
He gave us food for thought
As he raced through chapter after chapter
Giving us his thoughts and opinions
About our lives and what really matters
With our minds filled with his truthful words
We took to our weekly chairs
Waiting with anticipation
About what our guest speaker had to share
Taking an imaginary hike in the Himalayas
That challenged our civilized mind
Shared by a wandering monk
At exactly the perfect place and time
His obstacles were many and harrowing
Almost impossible to believe
As well as the miracles that saved him
Which were beyond anything we could conceive
A time we shared with our Spiritual friends
Who we adore in so many ways
Always looking forward to these Sundays
And that space where we can pray
So many things to be grateful for
Not to mention the remainder of the day’s waking hours
So much food-for-thought in our mind
Which is ours to savor and devour
Perhaps there are those who find it mundane
And that is most certainly okay
However somewhere deep in my soul
It just felt like one of those perfect days
