Sitting in the peace of the sanctuary
Praying quiet prayers to God
Doing so with inspiration
Not as though it were a job
The sun beams shone through the windows
Christening me with their holy light
And I thought about those loved ones deceased
And what they meant to me in my life
The choir sang like a band of angels
With voices both clear and bright
And every word that was otherwise spoken
Seemed to be perfect and right
Somehow my soul felt exposed
Willing to be touched in a new way
Something that felt very different
On this very special Spiritual day
People full of tender devotion
Surrounded me with their energy and care
Never have so many positive feelings
Felt like they were swirling in the air
And still as the heavenly voices sang on
Like sweet saints singing just for me
I felt tears for how much I wanted to reach out
And just be embraced by others just like thee
These are the days to be treasured
And tucked into your sacred chest
Because when it finally comes down to it
They will certainly be some of the best
