There’s no time like right now
To share your deepest heart
For it will have lost its value and beauty
Once its time for you to depart
To have that remarkable precious moment
When you can look right into someone’s eyes
And confess everything that has been good
As well as those little ugly white lies
To possibly have a few laughs
As well as some bittersweet tears
Breaking down old tired barriers
And admitting some of your useless fears
Just thoroughly cleansing your soul
With no attachment to the end
Just clinging to the distinct belief
That you will be even better friends
Are you brave enough to do it?
And push your ego out of the way
And just be ready to graciously accept
Whatever it is they have to say
Many are the brave occasions
When I’ve put my judgments and stories away
And more often than not
It was the beginning of a brand-new day
It will not be easy for those that are non-receptive
However you’ve done what you needed to do
Just by being forthright and pure of heart
And giving up your old point of view
Don’t decide to perhaps do it tomorrow
Don’t say you’ll do it another time
For being a procrastinator in this situation
Will one day feel like a regretful crime
So many are the miraculous moments
When I just simply gave in
And more often than not
We became the best of lifetime friends
