Quietly and intently
I meditate upon the rose
Studying its stem of thorns
Being sure not to get to close
Then I gazed at its green leaves
With their verdant lovely hue
As well as their deckled edges
That is appreciated by very few
Next is the delicate color
Of the petals all in a row
Observing the fascinating shading
And the beautiful way they grow
Each one feels like velvet
With its lips softly curled
Waiting to be selected
By some sweet young innocent girl
And last but not the least
Is the fragrance that is emanating from this treasure
A smell unlike any other
That gives man great aromatic pleasure
Years of strolling through gardens
And gathering these jewels so rare
However not once taking the time
To just simply study and stare
Thank you to our teacher
Who provided us with these incredible moments in time
It is one that shall stay close to my heart and soul
These pleasures that will forever stay cuddled in my mind
